Last Tuesday it was all happening in Camden Town, where I shot Live Acoustic Sessions for Filmefilms. Filipina-Scottish singer-songwriter Jaynee and myself did sets, which included a mix of covers and original material. It was a really fun experience and my first time working with the Filmefilms crew and Jaynee. The footage will be used as a promo leading up to our performances opening for Filipino comedian and actor Vice Ganda in London on Friday 25th November. Can’t wait to see the video! Andrea Martin: R&B Legend
For those of you who have not heard of Andrea Martin – this is the woman behind hits made famous by singers including Monica (‘Before You Walk Out My Life’), En Vogue (‘Don’t Let Go (Love)’) and Leona Lewis (‘Better In Time’) to name a few! I will be a guest performer when she hosts Brixton Mass Club on Friday 2nd December, which is an absolute honour – especially as Andrea’s music has played a major influence on myself as an artist. Here are a couple of videos to Andrea’s tracks:

Something For Sunday gig
Something For Sunday happens every other Sunday and showcases some of the UK’s finest new comedians and unsigned singers. Held at Concrete, a really cool venue in Shoreditch, East London, I performed amongst some awesome talent and perhaps the funniest comedy I’ve ever seen! I sang two songs with the house band, including my debut single ‘Lay You Down’. Check out these pics from the night:

The place was pretty packed out (special shout to all my friends / fans who made an appearance!) and although I was slightly nervous to begin with, the crowds’ reaction after I sang put me at ease as they showed their appreciation
There was even a gameshow Take Me Out (like on TV), where people from the crowd participated, which was hilarious! This is probably my favourite gig of the year and I highly recommend anyone to go check it out!

Facebook Music Page re-launched
Hi everyone! I’ve relaunched my Facebook Music Page – there has been some previous confusion over the original page and my main fb profile as they’re both titled ‘Jordan Saflor’ so I’ve renamed it to make them both distinguishable from each other.
PLEASE CLICK HERE TO ‘LIKE’ THE NEW PAGE INSTEAD AS THE OLD ONE WILL BE SHUTTING DOWN SHORTLY.
Cheers!

London Barrio Fiesta 2011
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
Last Sunday I headed to Lampton Park in Hounslow where I performed at ‘Barrio Fiesta sa London 2011′ – an annual festival organised by The Philippine Centre, that celebrates & promotes Filipino culture and tourism. Although I was born and raised in the UK, I was brought up to stay true to my Filipino roots and this event was definitely a significant indication of how important that was. The festival attracts around 15,000 people each year and despite the rain, the place was packed out! Families and friends coming together to eat, drink, catch up and enjoy performances from local and homegrown talent.
I sang four songs – three of my own tracks and a cover of ‘Set Fire To The Rain’ by Adele, stripped down to just acoustic guitar and bass. The highlight was when the sun came out for the first time that day during my set and everyone cheered! THAT WAS AMAZING! As soon as I got off stage I wanted to get back on and do it all over again!
I’ve always wanted to perform my songs at a festival and I am so happy that I got the opportunity to do so this year. Next year, Glastonbury! (let’s hope! lol)
